Open Source License: Suraksha is distributed as free and open-source software under the terms of the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3). By downloading, compiling, or executing Suraksha, you accept the rights and obligations detailed below.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or running the Suraksha application (the "Software"), whether via the Microsoft Store, GitHub Releases, or manual build compilation, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and the GNU General Public License version 3.0 (GPLv3).

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not install or use the Software.

2. Open Source Grant & Rights (GPLv3)

Under the GNU General Public License v3.0:

  • Freedom to Run: You may run the Software for any purpose, personal, academic, enterprise, or commercial.
  • Freedom to Study: You may inspect, audit, and analyze the complete source code to understand how it operates.
  • Freedom to Modify: You may modify and adapt the source code to suit your specific requirements.
  • Freedom to Share: You may redistribute original or modified copies of the Software, provided that all downstream distributions remain strictly licensed under the GNU GPLv3 with full source code made available.

3. Acceptable Use and Responsibilities

You agree to use Suraksha solely for lawful purposes. You shall not:

  • Use the Software to bypass administrative or organizational access controls without explicit authorization.
  • Modify the Software to inject malicious payloads, backdoors, rootkits, or keyloggers.
  • Misrepresent modified binaries as official releases of the Suraksha project or the YABP Initiative.

4. Master Passcode Responsibility

Suraksha secures your Master Passcode using cryptographic salt and local Windows DPAPI encryption. Because the Application maintains zero telemetry and has no remote recovery servers:

  • You are solely responsible for remembering and safeguarding your Master Passcode.
  • The developer and the YABP Initiative cannot recover, reset, bypass, or decrypt forgotten passcodes under any circumstances.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS, COPYRIGHT HOLDERS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Dheeraz or the YABP Initiative be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data loss, business interruption, or system downtime resulting from the installation or execution of Suraksha.

7. Microsoft Store Terms

If you downloaded Suraksha through the Microsoft Store, your installation is also subject to the standard Microsoft Services Agreement and standard Microsoft Store terms of transaction.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms of Use at any time. Any changes will be published directly to this page with an updated revision date.
